Sunrise Moon Nature Show

I like how the tree branches seem to be holding up the moon.

October's full moon is called Hunter's Moon.
Googling tells me it's supposed to be the smallest full moon of the year 2011, or furthest away from the earth.
Well, it was really beaming forth into the window right before the sun came up. Hard to ignore.

Autumn Sunrise

Foggy Sunrise Road

I LOVE that I was able to capture this moment in nature.
The road was thick with fog in this one spot and I stopped the car and took the shot.

Sunset With The Tele

Zoomed in on the Sunset with the tele.
Surpised by the cloud detail.
Prettier closeup.





Taken with XSi and tele hand held on P Mode and ISO auto.
No post processing.

And on the other side?
A glowing moon, although you can't tell it's glowing on the pic.


The moon pic was taken with S3 cuz it does a better sharpen job on the moon hand held than the XSi and tele.
Tungsten white balance makes it blue. I put it on Manual mode, zoomed in max, and adjusted the shutter speed up until no blowouts on the moon.

Chasing Sunrise Storm Clouds

Fabulous sunrise storm clouds.

Fire-breathing Storm Dragon with Storm-god in its mouth:


Didn't see the storm-god until I reviewed the pics.
I pumped up the contrast a bit to add drama and make the "fire" (sunlight) pop better. Made the "eye" of the dragon more visible.

This thing was h-u-g-e with wings. I couldn't get the entire thing in a pic.



I zoomed in with the tele--surreal:



I had two cameras around my neck, lol, my S3 for wider angle and my XSi for tele.
Looking at clouds with the tele is whole new cloud world. I often use it as binoculars when I'm out in the field.

The sunrise started out more calm with a dark fuchsia.



Then got progressively more turbulent ominous looking.



It did eventually storm, but nothing at damaging level here. Got a good soaking, which is good. And all of nature said ahhh...

Walk In The Field Part 8 - Grasses

Just some pretty grass pics.
No id.




This next one had a lot of "glitter" in it. The grass had moisture beads on it and the sunshine was making it glisten/glitter. Beautiful stuff. I took the pics facing the morning sun (East), which gave it a very golden color.





Here's some closeup grass glitter crops, my back is to the sun this time and it's West, so it's a different color, but sun is still shining on it and making it glitter.

Sunrise - Aho!

Pulled over to the side of the road and took multiple pics of the sun rising.

I set the camera to spot metering and cranked it down dark so I could get a good exposure of the sun.
It was beautiful with those clouds and changing every second/minute.

"Aho!"
